“Bachelorette” Andi Dorfman dishes all about Juan Pablo and Josh in her new book
Despite being on two reality shows, we don’t know a lot about what went down in Andi Dorfman’s relationships. After being a contestant on Juan Pablo’s season of The Bachelor and then starring on The Bachelorette, there are still a lot secrets Andi’s kept to herself — until now. In an interview with Cosmopolitan, the lawyer-turned-reality queen opens up in her new book, It’s Not Okay: Turning Heartbreak Into Happily Never After, about exactly went down with her split with fiancée Josh Murray.
It turns out that meeting and getting engaged on a show like The Bachelorette means the relationship unfolds a little differently. For one thing, it’s hard to see a person’s bad side, Andi said:
Good point.
Andi also gave details on the ex-Bachelor everyone loves to hate (or maybe just hate), Juan Pablo Galavis, who she famously ditched after a Fantasy Suite date in a girl-power move that totally inspired us. Although she didn’t say much, Andi made it clear that she didn’t like who Juan Pablo was when the cameras were not around. “I have a feminist in me, and to be in a situation where there are 30 girls dating one man, there’s already this inequality,” she told Cosmopolitan. “Just because there are lots of girls and one guy, that doesn’t mean that the guy gets a free pass in how he treats her. I just wasn’t going to have it.”
After her bad run of luck with not-so-great dudes, Andi landed back on her feet by making a major life change: she moved to New York City. “After we broke up, I had no boyfriend, no job, no apartment, and so really nothing to lose,” she told Cosmo about her decision to leave Atlanta. “Coming to New York and getting lost in the city . . . That would be my advice for people going through a tough breakup . . . Why do you have to sit there and confront every single issue? Sometimes going away is the best answer.”
Indeed. What else is Andi Dorfman going to dish to Bachelor Nation in her new book? We have to wait when it comes out in May!
