Uh oh. More of our favorite foods were recalled.

Earlier this month, we were wiping away tears because our beloved Kraft Mac & Cheese—6.5 million boxes of it, to be exact—was recalled. It still makes us a little weepy to think about, TBH.

Now, we have more serious food woes and Amy’s Kitchen is the source of our despair. Yesterday, the company announced the recall of approximately 74,000 boxes of their frozen food products due to the possibility of listeria-tainted spinach.

They annouced the recall on their Facebook page, saying, “One of our organic suppliers recalled their spinach for possible health effects. While we are unaware of any illnesses, we immediately contacted FDA and out of an abundance of caution are voluntarily recalling the specific lots of some of our frozen foods…”

They also linked to their press release about the recall, where you can find a complete list of the products that are being recalled, as well as the code numbers and expiration dates. PLEASE do us a favor and check your shelves for any of these products that may have been affected:

  • Enchilada Verde Whole Meal
  • Spinach Pizza

Listeria might sound like a fairytale land (seriously, doesn’t it?) but it’s not to be messed with. Symptoms include fever, muscle aches, nausea, and diarrhea—not fun. And according to the Washington Post, a listeria outbreak in prepackaged caramel apples earlier this year tragically claimed the lives of three people and made 29 others ill.

Amy’s Kitchen voluntarily recalled these items, and it looks like they made the right move, because consumers are commenting on their Facebook page claiming that they’ve fallen ill with nausea, cramps, and fevers.

Amy’s has been going through and responding to every individual comment on their status, but we’re still super concerned for those who may be affected. Make sure to double and triple check your Amy’s items on their website, contact a doctor immediately if you’re having symptoms and be safe!
