The heartbreaking, raw trailer for the new Amy Winehouse documentary is here

It’s already been four years since singer Amy Winehouse passed away, which is so hard to believe. Winehouse was a Grammy winner and global pop phenomenon, but she struggled with addiction and was inundated with attention from the press. Today Altitude Film shared a teaser for Amytheir upcoming documentary, directed by Asif Kapadia, about Winehouse’s all-too-short career, and it is heart-wrenching.

The minute-and-a-half video features voice-over from an early interview with Winehouse, a collage of clips from the course of her life, and a stripped-down demo of her hit “Back to Black,” the title track on the acclaimed album that made her famous. “I’m not a girl trying to be a star or be anything. I’m just trying to be a musician,” she says in an taped interview in the trailer. She adds, “I don’t think I’m gonna be at all famous. I don’t think I could handle it. I would probably go mad.”

You can watch the trailer below. The documentary will be in theaters this summer.
