Tomorrow is kind of a BIG night on The Big Bang Theory
Five years is a long time to wait for anything, but waiting for Amy and Sheldon to have sex seemed like waiting on the impossible.
Well, the impossible is not only possible, but certain. Yay for that. The CBS hit, The Big Bang Theory taped the Shamy sex-isode earlier this week, but they are going to make us wait until December 17th to watch it. Boo to that, for sure.
Instead of risking a leak, CBS released this statement, “After over five years of dating, we felt the time was right for Sheldon and Amy to finally consummate their relationship,” said executive producer Steve Molaro. “And we’re so excited for the audience to see the journey over the next several episodes.” Mayim Bialik and Jim Parsons have fielded questions for as long as they’ve played the characters about when the Amy and Sheldon will finally do the deed, but the time is finally upon us.
After enduring their heartbreaking split earlier in the season, fans had all but given up on TV’s favorite, albeit most awkward, couple. After watching Amy go on several dates with a few questionable guys, and witnessing Sheldon’s spiral into a emotionless Vulcan-wanna be, it looks like we might finally have the reunion we’ve been waiting for. Sort of.
I’m super excited for this development in the Shamy relationship and I really, really hope it means they’ll be closer and stronger than ever, but it’s still pretty unclear what this means for the couple, long-term. No one knows if this is the start of an official reconciliation, but it’s at least enough to tide us over until we do know.
