Amy Schumer’s NSFW sketch brilliantly skewers how Hollywood treats older actresses
Everyone throw up your emoji praise hands, Inside Amy Schumer is back! The first episode of the new season of Schumer’s feminist-minded and flat-out hilarious sketch show was in rare form. One of our favorite sketches of the night was a sketch in which Schumer, while out on a jog, stumbles upon Tina Fey, Patricia Arquette, and Julia Louis-Dreyfus having a Pinterest-worthy picnic in the middle of the woods.
After Amy stops freaking out (because it’s TINA, PATRICIA, and JULIA) she asks if it’s someone’s birthday, and the women laugh and laugh and inform Amy that no, in fact, what they are celebrating is Julia Louis-Dreyfus’ “Last F—able Day.” According to these celebrity picnic-ers, after a certain age Hollywood revokes an actress’ sexual viability. Men, however, can be 100 and, by the standards of the entertainment industry, still be considered f—able.
The sketch is jam-packed with jokes mocking Hollywood’s ridiculous sexism and ageism, but perhaps the best part of the sketch is when Schumer insists that she finds all of these women, her role models, still VERY much sexy. It’s not about age. It’s about who you are as a person and what you’ve accomplished. It’s those things that makes someone sexy. There’s no expiration date when it comes to being awesome.
Check out the hilariousness below. And be forewarned, this is NOT SUITABLE FOR WORK, so pop on those earbuds and watch during a break.
