Amy Schumer’s story about getting food poisoning is too real and TOO hilarious

We love Amy Schumer because she’s one open and honest cookie. What’s more, she’s not afraid to sweat the small stuff and talk about those moments that we’ve all experienced for the sake of comedy, and this story about her getting food poisoning in Paris is no different.

While we love Amy Schumer, we also love following her relationship with her partner Ben Hanisch. Whether the star is talking about how gross it is she’s so in love, the couple making their adorable red carpet debut, or their hilarious documentation of real life dating, we can’t get enough of it.

Now Amy has spoken to Ellen DeGeneres about another moment in their relationship and it’s equal parts gross, real, and kinda cute.

Not one for mincing her words, Amy told Ellen about one moment where she’d gone to Paris with Ben for a romantic mini-break. Neither of them had been to the French capital, she joked, “because we’re both trash.”

Heading to Paris, Amy explained that in their hotel room their bathroom wasn’t the most private of places. And (you can guess where this is going), of course, the pair both got food poisoning. Revealing that Ben became ill first, Amy the (graphically) recounted her own experience.

"Basically, I was in there and it was like [makes noise], like a machine gun. I knew it was over. I was yelling at him, 'It's was so great dating you. I wish you the best luck. You'll meet the greatest girl.' I knew it was over. Who can make it through that?"

Schumer then explained how she then need to vomit, too, and she grabbed the trash can in the bathroom.

"I was like the fountain on Friends," she explained. "And that was when I learned not to throw up in a wicker basket."

Luckily, this moment shared between Amy and Ben only made them closer and, as she said, they’re still together.

While the graphic details of this incident are kinda gross (and TOALLY hilarious), the fact that Amy was so gushy about her partner and the fact that they stuck with each other despite the embarrassment is a testament to their relationship and we seriously wish them both such a long and happy future!

Who says romance is dead, right?
