Amy Schumer shared video of her most recent sonogram, but not for the reason you think

Amy Schumer is all-too-aware of the widespread interest in celebrity pregnancy…and she’s using it to her advantage. On Monday, November 5th, the I Feel Pretty actress took to Instagram to share an emotional video of her sonogram. It captures everything fans look for in a milestone: The expectant mother with her hand clapped over her mouth in awe, the zoomed-in footage of the sonogram screen, an emotional “Oh my God!” But the reason she posted it has nothing to do with maternal pride.

“Happy Election Eve!” Schumer captioned the video, which has already amassed well over a million views. “You can look up your polling place + hours by texting LOCATION to 21333.”

“You can look up a sample ballot to be prepared at vote411.org/ballot,” the actress continued. “Make a plan to #vote and let’s make history tomorrow! (Feel free to copy this + send it to everyone.)”

Okay, this is genius. Schumer posted a video she knows many people will share…ensuring that critical information about voting in the November 6th midterms is also shared. Genius. Of course, this isn’t the first time Schumer has utilized her pregnancy to get out the vote. She announced the news through former CNN White House correspondent Jessica Yellin, along with a list of candidates she is planning to vote for.

Honor Amy Schumer today and go vote! Seriously, this matters.
