What Amy Schumer did for sexual assault survivors at her show was SO empowering
It goes without saying that Amy Schumer is a goddess among us mere mortals. Not only is she the queen of comedy, the 34-year old actress speaks her mind in a way we can ALL relate to and we absolutely love her for it!
At a recent show in Tampa, Florida, Amy addressed the many issues of the upcoming election (and hey, why wouldn’t she?), one of them being the awful comments Trump made about sexually assaulting women.
She then asked all sexual assault survivors in the audience to stand up with her in solidarity, which proved to be a truly powerful moment for the crowd of over 8,000 people.

Love @amyschumer so much more after show tonight. Embarrassed by "neighbors " who walked out over political ignorance

And while Schumer is no stranger to tackling big issues that NEED to be talked about, some audience members actually walked out of the show when she brought up the Republican presidential nominee. However, the Inside Amy Schumer star handled it like a pro, as always.
“I loved the crowd and my show in Tampa last night! she told Entertainment Weekly. "I want to thank the 8,400 people who stayed. We had a great time! We have always depended on comedians to make us laugh and tell the truth. I am proud to continue that tradition.
Preach it, girl!
