Amy Schumer opened up about life post-breakup

It’s no secret that breakups are the absolute worst, so we were sad to hear that Amy Schumer recently broke up with BF Ben Hanisch. And now, Schumer has opened up about life post-breakup — with her signature humor and grace, no less.

"I went through a breakup about a month ago," she told the crowd at a charity event in NYC on Thursday." We were a year and a half, you know, it’s not that bad."

She went on to say, “We went out with a couple who had been together a long time, we were trying to rush the intimacy. Like I was trying to impress the girl and I was like, ‘Well he woke me up this morning with a fart!’ And he just slowly turned to me and he goes are ‘We doing this?’ And I was like ‘No, no, no, no, we’re not opening fire. Don’t tell me any of the disgusting s— I’ve done.’”

Not only is this pretty hilarious, but — in true Amy fashion — there’s a lot of underlying truths in this story. It can be incredibly easy to rush intimacy in a new relationship and to compare your partnership with the ones you see around you. Oh, and we’ve definitely all been guilty of accidentally embarrassing our partner’s and then instantly regretting it. Like we said, #TRUTHS.

We genuinely hope that Amy and Ben are doing okay after their split and are moving forward in healthy ways. All jokes aside, breakups can be incredibly sad, and we’re sending all the good vibes their way right now!
