That time Amy Schumer got drunk and ate Jake Gyllenhaal’s birthday cake

Amy Schumer has a knack for shenanigans. A few weeks ago, she crashed a wedding reception with Judd Apatow for some beers and singing. Last week, she pranked Ellen (and crashed an interview with Hillary Clinton) to go ice skating in Rockefeller Center. But her latest stunt might take the cake—literally.

Amy stopped by The Late Show with Stephen Colbert and the subject quickly turned to her outrageous antics. Specifically, that one time she and her sister rented Jake Gyllenhaal’s house. Was she a quiet, conservative house guest? No, of course she wasn’t. This is Amy Schumer we’re talking about!

“I went through all of Jake’s stuff. Of course I did,” she told Colbert. If you rent a house to Amy Schumer, I think you know what you’re getting into. I would fully expect her to go through the drawers and thoroughly search the medicine cabinet, and I would be honored she had done so.

Amy says the house was pretty empty, but she did come across one item worthy of mention:

“He left a frozen cake in his freezer. It was very old. Like, it was not edible. It was an old, frozen cake,” she explained. “I would get drunk and I would eat it and I would talk as if he were there and I was at the party that the cake was served at. A lot.”

If only we could be a fly on the wall for these hijinks, right? Fortunately for us, Amy shared video footage of all of this happening, and it’s absolutely hilarious. At one point in the video, you can see the cake has the phrase “You are a Princess” stamped on its side. “Yes I am!” she declares in the video. Basically, you’ve gotta see it for yourself.
