Amy Schumer just proved why she’s the right choice to play Barbie with one incredibly inspirational Instagram post

Being the badass female that she is, Amy Schumer had the best response to people saying she shouldn’t play Barbie.
Last week (December 2nd) it was announced that Schumer was set to play Barbie in an upcoming live-action film centered around the iconic doll set for release in 2018.
According to a report from Variety, the plot follows how the protagonist (played by Schumer) is kicked out of Barbieland for not being perfect. She then has to make her way in the real world. Basically, it sounds like Enchanted meets The Smurfs and that to us is potentially an amazing concept. Not only that, but we can’t wait to see Barbie spread the word even more about body positivity.
However, because people won’t just let things live, there was some “backlash” to the casting announcement. Certain people on Twitter decided to show and say how Schumer was too “fat” to play the iconic doll, and it just isn’t okay.
Of course this being Amy Schumer she had the PERFECT response to the haterz.
Sharing a picture on Instagram, the 35-year-old firstly said how honored she was to be nominated for TWO Grammy Awards (!) before going on to slay the trolls like a BOSS.
"When I look in the mirror I know who I am. Im a great friend, sister, daughter and girlfriend. I'm a badass comic headlining arenas all over the world and making tv and movies and writing books where I lay it all out there and I'm fearless like you can be," she said.
Amy Schumer also said that she doesn’t consider the hateful comments “fat shaming” because she doesn’t consider herself fat and that she has “zero shame” in her game. She also thanked the trolls for their comments as it proves, she says, that she’s the right person for the role.
"Anyone who has ever been bullied or felt bad about yourself I am out there fighting for you, for us. And I want you to fight for yourself too!" she added. "We need to laugh at the haters and sympathize with [trolls]. They can scream as loud as they want. We can't hear them because we are getting shit done. I am proud to lead by example. 'I say if I'm beautiful, I say if I'm strong. You will not determine my story. I will'"
YES AMY YES. It’s so amazing and inspirational to see how even after facing hate online Amy Schumer is able to fight back with positivity. We know it must be hard, and we really respect and love her strength. Tbh, we can’t wait to see her play Barbie and just know that she’ll completely slay the role.
