Amy Schumer just posted a deeply dramatic throwback video
Some celebs are destined for stardom from the very beginning. One who’s no exception? Our fave Amy Schumer, obviously.
On Thursday, the Trainwreck star posted the cutest (and most relatable, for anyone who ever had an obsession with musicals) throwback video to Instagram featuring three primary elements: 1. A late ’80s/early ’90s dynamic, 2. A pink sweatshirt that would identify the time period even if Amy’s age didn’t, and 3. Our favorite funny lady singing along to “Out Here on My Own,” from the 1980 movie Fame.
“#Very heavy vid,” Amy captioned the #TBT clip, which showcases her performance, complete with hand movements and other interpretive moves because…duh. “Don’t watch unless you can cry #dancerinthedark level sadness.”
The sweater. The tousled blonde curls. The passion that will one day grace our own television and movie screens. We don’t know which part to love most, but we’re sure of one thing: We’re grateful Amy Schumer chooses to share these beautiful childhood moments with us.
In all serious, though, the lyrics in the video — “We’re always proving who we are, Always reaching for that rising star” — are something we can all relate to, even in adulthood.
Keep reaching, Amy Schumer (even though, in our books, you’re already the best). And in the meantime, if you have any other throwback gems, we wouldn’t say no to watching them over and over again.
