Amy Schumer clapped back against body-shamers with gorgeous bikini pics

If there is one thing we can officially say we are DONE WITH, it’s body-shaming. Which is why we are so incredibly thrilled that our favorite funny lady Amy Schumer clapped back against body shamers who attacked her gorgeous InStyle bathing suit shoot.

In case you missed it, Schumer posed for the cover of InStyle’s May issue (in which she looked AMAZING, btws), which elicited an extremely mean-spirited and uncalled for comment from bathing suit designer Dana Duggan. “Come on now! You could not find anyone better for this cover? Not everyone should be in a swimsuit,” Duggan wrote on Instagram (Um…what?! We literally are having trouble comprehending what this comment even means. Not only does Schumer look fabulous, but um, EVERYONE should be in a swimsuit whenever they damn well please).

But Schumer didn’t let the comments bring her down. Instead, she opted to post a series of bikini pics of herself on Instagram stories, look gorgeous, strong, and healthy. The pics included shots of her paddle boarding, walking on the beach, and hanging out with friends.

She ended the slideshow with, "I feel great. No haters can f with my baseline."

HERE, HERE! We are literally cheering over this body-positive response, and feel like Schumer is speaking for all of us right now.

And in case you were wondering, Duggan has defended her comments by invoking the right to free speech and stating, “I’m tired of the media and publications trying to push the fat agenda. It’s not healthy, and it’s not pretty. What is wrong with featuring healthy and fit cover models?”

There are so very many things flawed with the above statement, but we’ll start by mentioning the fact that weight is so very often not the best indicator of health or physical fitness, and also that the “healthy and fit” models all-too-often displayed on the cover of magazines are either underweight or severely photoshopped to look underweight. Where is the “health” in that?

Basically, we are so glad that Schumer clapped back against this needless negativity (in a super positive and healthy way). The world needs more of it!
