Amy Adams is set to do a “Gone Girl”-esque TV show, thank you TV Gods!

Big news, Gillian Flynn lovers! It has just been announced that Amy Adams is set to star in a TV adaptation of author Flynn’s, Sharp Objects. You may be more familiar with Flynn’s most famous work — Gone Girl.

The show will be a one-hour long serialized TV drama and will be directed by Dallas Buyers Club’s Jean-Marc Vallee. Even more exciting, Marti Noxon is writing the initial script and will serve as showrunner. Noxon has served as a producer on some seriously heavy-hitting shows, like Buffy the Vampire Slayer, Grey’s Anatomy, Mad Men, Glee and UnREAL (which she also created).

For those not familiar with Flynn’s Sharp Objects, check out the novel’s synopsis:

Excited yet?

The Sharp Objects adaptation is currently being shopped around to networks. With the huge craze around the 2014 Gone Girl film, Flynn’s fanbase has boomed. And we’re pretty sure a big name like Adams signing onto the project can only help the small-screen adaptation’s chances of getting picked up for a full season. We’re hoping for good news so we can see Adams bring Camille to life week after week!
