“America’s Got Talent” winner Grace VanderWaal just released a lyric video for her song “Light the Sky,” and it’s seriously magical
If you’ve been keeping up with the incredible talents featured on Ameria’s Got Talent, you probably remember one of their star singers, who also happens to be an extraordinary ukulele player. That’s right, we’re talking about the WINNER of Season 11…Grace VanderWaal! She’s only 12 years old and her career is literally skyrocketing before our eyes.
And because she knows we were dying for it, Vanderwaal released a “Light in the Sky” lyric video, which just cured our case of the mid-week blues.
Oh yeah, and it’s an original song, because this girl is the real deal (if that wasn’t clear already). With that kinda smoky voice, she sounds a little Norah Jones!
Damn, she has serious pipes, not to mention such a varied tone. Her first EP is already out, titled Perfectly Imperfect.

Awwww look how happy she is!
I can’t believe I have my own mural!! Visit in LA or NYC and send me a photo with it using #PerfectlyImperfectLA or #PerfectlyImperfectNYC pic.twitter.com/QBU0okqGIT

Unsurprisingly, people are already taking notice of VanderWaal’s talent. One even compared her to Sia!
@GraceVanderWaal literally sounds like a young Sia, it's insane. she has such powerful vocals, even at only 12 years old. i'm floored.

Which reminds us how she was already named the “next Taylor Swift” by Simon Cowell on America’s Got Talent.

There’s no doubt that this pint-sized singer is ridiculously talented, and this song and EP are just the beginning of what’s sure to be a long career in the music industry. We hope that she continues to play the ukulele, because there aren’t enough singers who do and it’s a magical instrument to match her magical music.
HUGE congrats to you, Grace! You just made us get up off our feet and dance “like no one’s around.” Happy Wednesday!
