There are literally so many things we all missed in the first footage from “American Horror Story: Cult”

Because we’ve been teased enough already, American Horror Story finally released some footage from the upcoming season, Cult. While we’ve seen plenty of (creepy AF) teasers so far, this one featured actual scenes from Cult, and my educated guess is that these scenes come from the first episode, if not the first two. And not that I’ve watched the footage enough times to gather that it seems pretty condensed and is probably just from the season premiere.

Anyway. While we’re all pretty excited to catch a glimpse of Evan Peters with blue hair, and a shrieking Sarah Paulson, you might have not been paying attention to everything else happening around them. This season will deal with the aftermath of the 2016 presidential election, as Ally (Paulson) comes to grips with some of her fears, which seem to be bubbling to the surface again. The trailer calls one of them out by name, coulrophobia. It is not, surpassingly, the fear of colors, but rather, the fear of clowns.

Cool, because we’ve seen so. many. clowns in the teasers so far, one of them we already know — Twisty, from Season 4’s Freak Show.

But supposedly that’s not the only fear Ally is coming to grips with. According to a released synopsis, she’s also got hemophobia (fear of blood) and trypophobia (fear of irregular patterns or clusters of small holes or bumps). Know what else we see a lot of in the trailer? BOTH OF THOSE THINGS. And so much more!

As we know, the events of the season kick off on Election Night 2016. There are many people in this picture, and I am willing to wager Lena Dunham is somewhere here right now.

Here is Ivy (Alison Pill) and Ally’s son, name TBD. This is the first, and certainly not the last, time I will suggest that he is actually Michael from Season 1’s Murder House. If true, you heard it here first.

Hello, Cheyenne Jackson. It’s very exciting to see you, but that’s not the most exciting thing here. Do you see those holes in the books behind him?

Are you ready for some irregular patterns now? How about some hole-y irregular patterns? Check out the tapestry hanging on the wall of Ivy and Ally’s house.

Now for just some irregular patterns, here’s what the inside of Ivy’s butcher shop, The Butchery looks like. Also, let’s not even pretend that “The Butchery” isn’t a callback to Season 6’s Butcher.

During a pre-footage tease, Billy Lourd’s Winter Anderson asks us to pinky promise her. Here she is, pinky promising Peters’ Kai.

There’s nothing really exciting to point out here pertaining to AHS, I just wanted to show everyone this awesome bookcase…but also it’s an irregular pattern.

This scene happens really fast, but yes, Ivy does pull a knife out from under the bed. ???

This poor dude is about to get a staple gun to the head. It’s not Billy Eichner, or Colton Haynes, or Jackson. What cast member hasn’t been revealed yet??

Here is that child again, who may or may not be the Antichrist. He’s wearing cool cowboy pajamas, so let this be the first time I bring up the idea that Season 8 will be cowboy themed, and WOW that already sounds amazing.
