All the “American Horror Story” trailers for Season 6 are FAKE, except for ONE

Know all the ridiculously creepy American Horror Story teasers that have been released so far? There’s one with a baby and a bassinets and a creepy-ass mobile, then one with a child running down the stairs as a hand reaches out and grabs her, and also the one with the centipede creeping down the face of (maybe) Lady Gaga, and also the one with the cornfield and the (probably) aliens. So many.

Alone, the teasers clearly tell a story and hint at something. But add them together, and none of them make sense. Baby + aliens + cornfield = wut? And that’s the point.

At FX’s TCA panel, FX CEO John Landgraf explained to the crowd that out of all these trailers, only one of them is the actual theme. The rest are meant to throw us off the Season 6 scent, and AHS, IT IS WORKING.

“[FX’s marketing team] went out and created many more trailers than you’ve actually seen for hypothetical seasons of American Horror Story, in different genres, different places. One of them is accurate, and the others are all misdirects.”

In case you’re like, wait, hold up what? AHS knows we are desperate for the theme of Season 6. In order to keep us guessing right up until September 14th, lots of false information has been thrown out there about this season – from the trailers, to posters, to quite possibly, even the fact that they were shooting in a colonial setting. They’re all red herrings. And right now, there are so many of them, and we’ve been trying to connect them in all the wrong ways.

FX CEO Landgraf continued, stating that “there is a theme and a setting and a place and time…but we’re not going to reveal it because we think it will be fun for the audience to have the surprise this year.

Sure YOU think it’s exciting and fun to keep us guessing, FX, but this is literally our version of a horror story. The theme of Season 7 is just going to be all of us freaking out about the big theme reveal for Season 6.
