It sounds like Sarah Paulson will wear headgear in Season 8 of “American Horror Story,” and we relate so hard to this

For anyone who has ever experienced any sort of dental misfortune, you know it is not the best of times, it is the worst of times. Cavities?  Root canals? Braces for, like, two to four years? Mouth guards? Having teeth pulled? Regular cleanings every six months? We’ve all been there, done that. And now it sounds like for Season 8 of American Horror Story, Sarah Paulson’s own personal nightmare will involve some sort of dental contraption.

Girl, we feel this. Dental issues are a real horror story.

Ryan Murphy would like you to know that Season 8 of American Horror Story is set in the future, but it’s not AHS: Space (at lease…not yet). While an ~official~ confirmation hasn’t gone out, Murphy has revealed that Sarah Paulson will once again return to the show, and to that we say: !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Considering this woman has played a ghost multiple times, along with being imprisoned in a mental institution against her will, that whole witch thing, conjoined twins, and whatever the hell Season 7 was about, what terrors does Murphy have in store for her come Season 8? Well, teeth.

“Sarah Paulson is very excited about the dental appliances she will be wearing on the show," Murphy told Entertainment Weekly at the TCA winter press tour.

So now, in the future, what kind of “dental appliances” will Paulson be sporting? If it’s braces, Murphy probably would have said, “braces.” This makes it sound like whatever’s happening with Paulson’s mouth will be worse, much worse, and what’s worse than having to go to bed every single night with something big, metal, and uncomfortable strapped to your head?

While we’re still going to have to wait a while to figure out what’s going on, as long as Paulson’s excited about it, so are we. American Horror Story: The Future (…that’s not the official title) is expected to air sometime this fall on FX.
