American Horror Story: 1984 released its first full trailer, and yes, it shows the whole cast this time
Finally, we’re getting an American Horror Story: 1984 trailer with some meat to it. Premiering on September 18th on FX, AHS: 1984 is a throwback to the era of ’80s slasher flicks like Friday the 13th, Halloween, and the lesser-known Sleepaway Camp. Up until now, we’ve only seen bloody bits and pieces of what’s to come this season. But FX just released the official trailer for 1984 and it looks like it’s going to be nostalgic in the creepiest way possible.
What’s more is that we haven’t seen any of the actual cast in the teaser trailers previously dropped on the FX YouTube page. Now, the official trailer finally introduces us to our main characters, played by Emma Roberts, Billie Lourd, Gus Kenworthy, Angelica Ross, Cody Fern, Leslie Grossman, and DeRon Horton. (Sadly, no: Sarah Paulson won’t be around this season, and neither will Evan Peters.)

However, we still haven’t seen Matthew Morrison, John Carroll Lynch, or Zach Villa—all of whom are supposedly making appearances in the upcoming ninth season. This leads us to believe that one of them may just be Mr. Jingles.
Who is Mr. Jingles, you ask? It’s time you watch the trailer to find out.

1984 appears to have a more campy, straight storyline compared to previous seasons, in which plots tangled themselves into tense, gritty, and gruesome scenarios that could never have a truly happy ending.
But with Roberts’ character seemingly having a past with serial killers and tragic endings, we shouldn’t be so sure that 1984 will keep things entirely surface level. Knowing the formulas for the ’80s slasher films this season is based on, we do have a feeling Roberts’ prudish Brooke will be the “final girl” and have to face her biggest fear and slay Mr. Jingles.

Even though we’re torn up over the fact that Sarah Paulson and Evan Peters will not appear in 1984, we hope the season will be entertaining enough so that we won’t miss them.
Tune into the premiere episode on September 18th to get the snot scared out of you.
