America Ferrera’s new project is making activism accessible in the digital age

Wonder Woman may not actually exist (if you don’t count existing in our hearts), but thankfully, we have our own celebrity version of the beloved superhero. America Ferrera is pretty much saving the world, so she may as well be Wonder Woman; and her newest project is totally a testament to that.

America’s latest venture is Harness, which will be partnering with Hearst Magazines Digital Media to create multi-platform digital content. This will include a docuseries that will “encourage activism and celebrate a new class of role models who are changing their communities and our country,” according to a press release.

So what can we expect? Real, meaningful dialogue about activism and how to make palpable change in your communities.

Harness, which was started by America — as well as her husband Ryan Piers Williams, and Wilmer Valderrama — has a goal of making activism accessible.

With this objective in mind, Harness will be partnering with publications like Cosmopolitan and Elle to share the stories of activists who’ve made a difference, bringing powerful conversations from the frontline of activism to the masses.

The ultimate aim for Harness is to help, and to inspire people to take action that will actually make a difference, in a way that’s catered to the digital era we’re living in. By pairing real life knowledge with a range of diverse content, the company is taking a huge step forward in shaping activism in this media-run world.

We’ll just be over here, eagerly awaiting to see what Harness releases! We guess saving the world is just another day in the life for America.
