Amber Tamblyn’s birthday message for America Ferrera will make you call your best friends ASAP
They may have played the best of friends in Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants but the love between its four stars runs even deeper off-screen. In the 13 years since the teen film’s release, Amber Tamblyn, Blake Lively, Alexis Bledel, and America Ferrera have remained the best of friends in real life, supporting one another at premieres, celebrating milestones, and taking to Instagram to post photos of their spectacular reunions.
Reminding us that their real friendship is maybe even better than in the movie, Tamblyn took to Instagram to celebrate Ferrera’s 34th birthday, sharing an adorable photo booth snapshot with her former Sisterhood costars — complete with a heart drawn around Ferrera.
Tamblyn captioned the photo with a sweet note to Ferrera, remarking on what an incredible friend she is to the Sisterhood sisters, calling her a “damn fierce, kind, compassionate, loyal friend.”
The former Joan of Arcadia star also expressed her excitement for the mom-to-be, who is expecting her first child with husband Ryan Piers Williams, joking that she, “can’t wait for us to have a baby together soon.”
Happy birthday to this force of nature, my best girl America Ferrera. (Also two other best girls pictured!) I may not know how to draw hearts and Blake may not know how to be chill in a photo booth and Alexis may think we’re all nuts but we know a damn fierce, kind, compassionate, loyal friend when we see one. And you are all of those things, America. We love you so much. We can’t wait for us to have a baby together soon. #SorryRyan #Sisters #ButAlsoFathers#PaternityTest
Who needs Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants 3 when we have this amazing IRL friendship?
In late March, Tamblyn opened up about her friendship with her former co-stars, revealing that they often keep in touch via a group chat, but try to get their young kids together for play dates as much as possible. Tamblyn told US Weekly, “It’s a very special bond that we have. We’re very proud to be friends and if we could do movies together for the rest of our lives I think we would.”
We love how much they continue to love and support one another after all these years! Happy Birthday America!
