Amber Rose is canceling her annual SlutWalk for this important reason
Since Amber Rose held her first SlutWalk in 2015, the event has been a powerful way for women to take ownership of their bodies and work to end of victim-blaming. The model and actress has also continued to fight slut-shaming outside of the annual event, even sharing the occasional NSFW photo for the feminist cause. But now, Rose has announced that there will be no 2019 SlutWalk—for very understandable reasons.
Rose broke the news in an August 13th Instagram post. Explaining her decision to cancel what would have been the fifth annual SlutWalk, she wrote, “I just have to protect my energy and peace.”
The model and actress, who is pregnant with her second child, expressed gratitude for her partner and her new baby. She also wrote that she was trying to reduce her stress levels during her pregnancy.
"I’m so happy God has blessed me with a New Baby and an Amazing Man to help me through all the turmoil," she wrote. "That’s why I’ve been laying so low during this pregnancy.... no Toxicity will be tolerated over here only Positive vibes. Fuck fake friends and their weirdo shit. I’d rather just have my family and my team.P.S This is also why I’m not having my Slutwalk this year."

Rose added that she has ended “about 20” toxic friendships over the past year.
"I’ve had friends steal jewelry and money from me, Sleep with my BF’s behind my back, Male friends lying and telling people we were sleeping together, Alcoholic drug addict friends, Abusive Friends, Toxic Personality friends and I even had a Friend call Social Services on me twice ( For no fucking reason) only to Sue me for calling her and Cursing her out," Rose wrote.
While we’re sad that SlutWalk won’t be happening this year, Rose’s reasons for canceling it make a lot of sense. It’s important to do what’s best for your mental health, and we’re glad that Rose is thinking about what’s best for her.
