Amanda Seyfried got secretly married!
We’ve loved her since Mean Girls and beyond, and we are officially thrilled to report that actress Amanda Seyfried married fiancé Thomas Sadoski this past Sunday in a super private and low-key ceremony.
Sadoski, also an actor, revealed the surprise news last night on The Late Late Show with James Corden, casually slipping in the phrase, “my wife,” as he spoke to the host. “When did you get married,” Corden asked (understandably surprised).
"Sunday," Sadoski replied. "We eloped. We just took off into the country with an officiant and just the two of us, and we did our thing."
Um, HUGE CONGRATULATIONS, GUYS! (And yes, the audience apparently went wild).
We are seriously so stoked for the couple, who are expecting their first child together this year (Seyfried has showed off her baby bump at several major red carpet events).
As for the low-key wedding, we’re actually none-too-surprised.
Seyfried has made it clear that while super ready to be a mom, she wasn’t all that obsessed with the notion of a giant, storybook wedding.
"I don't want to be the center of attention," Seyfried told Vogue Australia. "I get to go to premieres and get dressed up all the time. I went to the Met Gala last year in a wedding gown designed by Riccardo Tisci; I've played a bride a billion times."
So basically, it sounds like the couple wed in the most perfect of ways for their personal style, and to that we say, CHEERS!
And on the non-married, non-baby front, we can’t wait to see Seyfried costar alongside Shirley MacLaine in the upcoming The Last Word, about a young journalist who goes on a life adventure with an older woman who has paid her to help tell her story.
So many exciting things coming down the pipeline for one of our favorite ladies, and we’re here for it all.
