Amanda Brugel said “The Handmaid’s Tale” has “carte blanche” to go crazy in Season 2, and we’re so ready
It’s no secret that The Handmaid’s Tale is one of our favorite shows. So when actress Amanda Brugel opened up about Season 2, saying they’re going “a little crazy” with it, we were all ears.
We cannot imagine The Handmaid’s Tale being more extreme than it already is, but we’ll take it. Brugel, who plays Rita the Waterfords’ housekeeper, just got promoted to series regular for Season 2.
Although Brugel told People she doesn’t “have any idea” about specifics, she did reveal some deets that definitely have us intrigued.
“I was having a conversation with Elisabeth [Moss] a couple of days ago — all I know is that it’s going to make Season 1 look like a walk in the park, Brugel said. “So that’s really exciting.
The Handmaid’s Tale is based on the best-selling novel by Margaret Atwood. And yes, she’s still involved with the show and characters’ lives.
“I can imagine she’s been sitting with them for quite some time, so now having the opportunity to allow them to go beyond the book is exciting for her as much as it is exciting for us, Brugel continued. “I do know that because they were sort of held and tied down to Season 1, there were restrictions, obviously. And now it’s sort of carte blanche. We have no restrictions. So we can just go a little crazy with Season 2.
We really want to know just what “go a little crazy” means!
“Look at how terrifying this world is — it would be naive to think that everyone’s going to survive, Brugel said.
Our thoughts exactly. We can’t wait to see what Season 2 has in store!
