Amal and George Clooney’s twins were just born, and their names are so classic

Brace yourselves for some absolutely fantastic news: Amal and George Clooney’s twins were just born — GAH! Fortunately, we don’t have to waste another minute with the guess-the-babies’-names game because we already know what the Clooneys are calling their twins.

On Tuesday morning, Amal and George welcomed a boy and a girl, and they gave their shiny new bundles of joy the most classic names: Ella and Alexander.

The couple’s spokesperson, Stan Rosenfield, confirmed the arrival of the Clooney twins in a hilarious statement, telling USA Today via email, “This morning Amal and George welcomed Ella and Alexander Clooney into their lives. Ella, Alexander and Amal are all healthy, happy and doing fine. George is sedated and should recover in a few days.”

Since we learned that Amal and George were expecting twins, there has been a lot of speculation on the sex of the babies, with some suspecting that the couple would have a boy and a girl.

However, Clooney shot down those rumors (along with some previously suggested baby names), saying, “I don’t know where this rumor comes from that we’re going to have a boy and a girl. We ourselves don’t know yet and don’t want to know.”

Well, we have no way of confirming whether they were pulling our legs or really did only find out upon the babies’ arrival. Either way, we’re super excited for the new parents, and cannot wait to catch our first glimpse of the kiddos.

Congrats to the Clooneys!
