Aly Raisman’s message about self-love is something we all need to hear

One of our inspirational faves just offered a much-needed reminder for us to be a little more gentle with ourselves. Hitting us with a mega dose of positivity, Aly Raisman shared a message about self-love on Instagram, and her words should really resonate with anyone who’s struggling to stifle their inner critic.

Women in particular are constantly pressured to look a certain way, to change our bodies, and even adjust the way we dress to fit narrow beauty standards, experiences that are unfortunately all too familiar to the 23-year-old Olympic champ.

On the flip side, Raisman’s latest post on body positivity (srsly, she’s become a pro at lifting us up) has put us in the mood to strike our most fierce pose, shamelessly fawn over our wonderfully unique selves and not feel one ounce of guilt about it.

If you’ll recall, Raisman was recently body-shamed at an airport, a disheartening experience that inspired her to speak publicly about the incident and completely check anyone who thinks they have the right to pass judgment on anyone else’s looks.

Luckily for us, the badass Olympic gymnast is back with more words of wisdom that deserved to be framed and hung on a wall.

"Wear whatever makes you feel happy and confident," Raisman captioned her swimsuit selfie. "Don't EVER let anyone tell you how you should or shouldn't dress. We are all entitled to wear what we want."

She added, “You are all unique and beautiful in your own way. No one is perfect. AND no matter who you are, male or female, we all have those days of insecurity. We are all human. Everyone’s story is important. EVERYONE. You never know what someone is going through.”

Preach, Aly. You’re the epitome of #girlpower, and your encouraging messages are always right on time.
