Alicia Vikander and Michael Fassbender shared the sweetest kiss at the Oscars
Sure, we all watch the Oscars to see who takes home those beautiful trophies. And we enjoy the red carpet to see what everyone’s wearing. But let’s be honest: Some of us also watch to see who some of our favorite celebs will bring as their dates.
In rumored couple Alicia Vikander and Michael Fassbender’s case, they didn’t arrive together – which at first tipped us off that perhaps they aren’t an item after all. But when Vikander won the Best Supporting Actress Oscar for her role in The Danish Girl, it was difficult not to take back all those “Maybe they are/maybe they aren’t” thoughts because of the super adorable kiss she shared with fellow nominee Fassbender right before going up to accept her award.
The look on Fassbender’s face as Vikander walks away kind of says it all. You don’t look at someone who’s just a friend and/or colleague that way, right? RIGHT? Plus, look at that romance-novel-worthy lingering touch. Swoon.
Our new favorite probably-official couple is said to have met while filming The Light Between Oceans, due out in September and in which Vikander plays Fassbender’s character’s wife. Though they still haven’t officially said they’re dating, they have been seen together a few times over the past year or so, in spots like Sydney’s Bondi Beach and the Monaco Grand Prix.
Regardless of her relationship status, though, we’re so stoked for Vikander’s win, and hope to see so much more of her – hopefully with Fassbender at her side, because we are suckers for cute couples who support each other so proudly.
