Alexis Bledel’s simple 2017 Emmys dress is perfectly suited for her

Alexis Bledel won her first Emmy award earlier this week, and she was on hand for tonight’s telecast to present some of the golden statues. While she skipped the red carpet (so sneaky), we got a glimpse of Bledel’s dress as she ascended the stage.

Bledel is always low-key and consistently classy, and her Emmys look represented that.

Walking onstage in a sleek strapless black gown with blue and magenta ribbon detailing, Bledel was the epitome of simple glam.

We love how the blue in her dress matched her eyes and her makeup was ever so subtle.

Bledel already took home an Emmy at the Creative Arts Emmys Awards ceremony, where she won for Outstanding Guest Actress in a Drama Series for her work in The Handmaid’s Tale as Ofglen/Emily.

In her acceptance speech, Bledel thanked the show’s creator for “writing a character who displays such fortitude amongst such devastation and then suggesting that I play her,” and then thanked Elizabeth Moss “for having me be a part of this affecting and incredible work.”

When Bledel took home her award, her forever onscreen mom Lauren Graham was there to congratulate her.

“THIS IS SO AWESOME. Congratulations and love!” Graham tweeted to her friend.

Bledel’s role in The Handmaid’s Tale is quite the departure from roles we’ve seen her do, and the heart-wrenching storytelling that she brought to life, it’s clear that Bledel deserves this award.
