Alessia Cara just shared her Lin-Manuel Miranda written track from Disney’s “Moana” and it’s super inspiring

It’s safe to say that we’re pretty excited for Disney’s upcoming animated movie Moana. Not only that, but we’re totally LOVING the Lin-Manuel Miranda penned song sung by Alessia Cara for the film’s soundtrack.

Titled “How Far I’ll Go,” the song is a completely rousing and inspiring track about believing in yourself and we totally love it.

“How Far I’ll Go” is set to play during the closing credits for Moana. Complete with tropically-tinged producer, Alessia’s distinctive vocals are given space to shine. The song even includes a key change (and who doesn’t love a key change?). In the film, the song will be sung by Auli’i Cravalho, who voices the titular character, Moana.

The video for the song fits with the film’s Polynesian location, and sees Alessia wandering a beach and while making a rake that she later uses to make beautiful pattern in the sand.

"See the line where the sky meets the sea, it calls me / no one knows how far it goes," she sings. "If the wind in my sail on the sea stays behind me / one day I'll know / if I go there's just no telling how far I'll go."

The track follows Alessia’s hit singles “Here,” “Wild Things,” and current Billboard top 40 track “Scars to Your Beautiful.”

To celebrate the track’s release, Alessia shared a hilarious video on to Insatgram.

"in honour of "how far I'll go" coming out today, here's me serenading my mom with the excessive dramatic version ft. the creepiest "wow" of all time," she wrote, captioning the video.

The singer, who recently wrapped up her tour in her hometown of Toronto, Canada, released her debut album, Know-It-All, last year following the sleeper hit “Here.”

Disney’s Moana follows the adventures of a young princess, Moana from Motunui Island, as she embarks on a journey to uncover an island of mysterious secrets.

On her journey, she encounters the demigod Maui, played by Dwayne Johnson. The film is set for release on November 23rd.

Alessia Cara’s “How Far I’ll Go” is available now.
