Alessia Cara dressed super low key to the Billboard Women in Music Event and that’s why we love her

When it comes to new pop stars, Alessia Cara was a refreshing addition when she joined the scene. Her first hit song that made it big and spoke to us like nothing before was “Here” where she put into words what going out to parties is like for so many of us introverts. She’s low key and embraces that and when Alessia Cara arrived to the Billboard Women in Music event wearing jeans she reminded us all why we love Alessia Cara so much.

The 10th annual Billboard Women in Music Event started with the red carpet where celebs and stars gathered to celebrate the women in the music industry that makes it as awesome as it is and acknowledge the powerhouses in the scene.

This year, Madonna will receive the Women of the Year Award, Shania Twain will be this year’s Icon, according to Billboard, and the red carpet is where the event kicks off.

Alessia Cara had all eyes on her when she posed for cameras because her outfit totally fit her personality and the award that she was awarded at this year’s event.

The 20-year-old singer rocked the carpet wearing embellished denim and a simple gray T-shirt, where she would be receiving the Rule Breaker designation, which “celebrates a boundary-pushing female music star whose approach defies the conventional.”

The Billboard Women in Music Event is taking place today at the New York City gala, but will air December 12th on Lifetime so we can all celebrate the amazing women in music.
