Huge news — we know at least one “Saturday Night Live” cast member who will be back for this season
We can all breathe a sigh of relief because Alec Baldwin will be reprising his role as President Donald Trump during the season premiere of Saturday Night Live.
While promoting his new Trump parody book with Kurt Andersen, You Can’t Spell America Without Me, the 30 Rock actor confirmed to Ellen DeGeneres that he’ll be donning the orange bronzer and horrible blond wig for at least the season premiere, although he remained coy as to exactly how many episodes of the long-running sketch comedy he’ll appear in.
"The [SNL] season premiere is September 30th, and I'm going to do that — yeah, I'm gonna do a couple of them," he told DeGeneres. "We're going to do it until...okay, never mind."

While in March, the 30 Rock actor told Extra that he didn’t know how much longer audiences would want to see his Trump impression, it seems SNL fans just couldn’t get enough. By June, Baldwin told CNN that he’d try and squeeze in a few appearances as the unpredictable president. The actor went on to appear in character during Weekend Update: Summer Edition spoofing Trump’s bizarre rally in Phoenix back in August.
It’s safe to say that the Trump administration has been the gift that keeps on giving to Saturday Night Live, as Update co-host Colin Jost opening Summer Edition by remarking, ‘”It’s been a crazy year these last few weeks.”
Baldwin’s Trump impression even garnered him an Emmy nomination for Primetime Emmy Award for Outstanding Supporting Actor in a Comedy Series, which he’d favored to win on Sunday.
Saturday Night Live returns on September 30th with host Ryan Gosling and musical guest Jay-Z. It’s gonna be yuuuuge.
