Alanis Morissette updates ‘Ironic’ for the Internet age

Alanis Morissette’s Jagged Little Pill blessed us with some of the most iconic and wonderful songs of the 1990s, and they are no less amazing now than they were then. But all the same, a lot has changed over the past two decades, and an update on “Ironic” was something we definitely needed.

James Corden and Alanis Morissette delivered that update last night, and it was perfect. Whether it’s swiping left at the wrong moment, an unappreciated clever tweet, or Uber rolling up at the wrong time, 2015 is just as ironic as 1995.

Except, of course, that irony isn’t really what they’re talking about. And don’t worry — they address the lack of irony in “Ironic”, too.
