Alanis Morissette was reportedly robbed of $2 million worth of jewelry, and our hearts go out to her
Our hearts go out to Alanis Morissette, who lost $2 million worth of jewelry in a recent robbery, US Weekly reports. The incident took place at the 42-year-old singer’s California home last week, where “suspects made off with a safe containing approximately $2 million worth of jewelry and other items or property,” a spokesperson for the Los Angeles Police Department confirmed. Morissette wasn’t directly named in the statement, but law enforcement sources alleged to TMZ that burglars took the jewelry from the singer’s Brentwood residence on Feb. 9. Apparently, she was away from home at the time.
This news comes nearly one month after “You Oughta Know” singer’s former business manager admitted to stealing $4.8 million from her. Federal prosecutors said Jonathan Todd Schwartz admitted to embezzling Morissette’s money in addition to $1.7 million from two other clients and agreed to plead guilty.
Unfortunately, this isn’t the only celebrity home thieves have targeted in recent months. If you’ll recall, Nicki Minaj’s mansion was robbed somewhere between November 2016 and January while she was away from home. The suspects reportedly ransacked the Pinkprint rapper’s Los Angeles home, cut up her clothes, damaged furniture and stole nearly $200,000 worth of jewelry and miscellaneous items.
Like Minaj, Morissette has yet to publicly comment on the incident, but appears to be focused on staying positive and appreciating all the wonderful things that bring her joy in life, namely her gorgeous baby girl Onyx Solace Morissette-Treadway, whom she shares with husband Mario “Souleye” Treadway.
