Alan Thicke’s son recalled his final moments with his dad on that fateful day, and it’s so bittersweet
We’re still not over the loss of TV legend Alan Thicke, and it still hurts to hear just how much his family is missing him.
In an exclusive interview with Entertainment Tonight, Alan’s youngest son Carter Thicke recalled his final moments with his father, and you might want to grab a tissue.
Carter and Alan were playing hockey in Burbank, when Alan collapsed and suffered a heart attack. “The ambulance came and the paramedics had stabilized him and everything seemed fine,” Carter said. “I got to give him a hug and said, ‘I love you,’ and that was the last time I saw him…He was like the perfect dad.”
Losing a parent is devastating at any age, but Carter is only 19 and we feel for him so much. We’re glad that he got to tell his dad how much he loves him. It’s so…bittersweet.

"I have never known a more kind, loving, hairy, and generous person in my life and I am forever grateful for the light that this man brought to my life and so many others. You will be missed every second of every day," he wrote.
Carter has many photos of his dad on Instagram that are captioned with endearing messages, and it’s clear that they had a very loving relationship.

Carter’s even been getting involved in acting these days, just like his old man. So we’re looking forward to many more generations of entertainment from the Thicke family! And most importantly, we trust that Carter is banding together with his family to get through this difficult time as a team.
