Aerie’s body-positive spring campaign will feature Olympian Aly Raisman and actress Yara Shahidi

Nobody wears body positivity better than Aerie. In 2014, the figure-friendly lingerie line unveiled #AerieREAL, an ultra-empowering ad campaign spotlighting models of diverse body types in non-photoshopped photos. Since then, the label has double-downed on building a size-inclusive brand, expanding sizing guides on its website and growing its catalog of body-diverse models.

And #AerieREAL’s latest look is fierce AF. This week, Aerie revealed the stars of its spring campaign: Olympian Aly Raisman and actress Yara Shahidi — and OMG WE CAN’T WAIT!

Raisman and Shahidi will join body-positive supermodel Iskra Lawrence (#AerieREAL’s OG unretouched goddess) and “Fight Song” singer-songwriter Rachel Platten in the campaign, which is designed to appeal to a wider range of women through representation of a variety of body types such as curvy, athletic, and petite.

But according to Aerie, these women are much more than just models. They’re inspirations. So, in addition to appearing in #AerieREAL’s photo campaign, these “Role Models” will make special appearances elsewhere, too, including Aerie stores nationwide.

The badass brand ambassadors plan to speak about personal empowerment and body positivity. And there’s more! Each model will design exclusive items for Aerie — and 100% of the proceeds from every sale will go to the charity of their choice.

Looking good, Aerie!

Raisman, a gymnast and Olympic gold medalist, recently faced off against against sexual predator Larry Nassar in court, testifying during the sentencing phase of his trial on Friday, January 19th. It’s wonderful to see the resilience radiating off of her in these photos for #AerieREAL.

And strong is beautiful.

Aerie captioned the image: “We’ve all been through something that in the end, will make you a stronger person.”

Meanwhile, Shahidi hopes to use “her strong voice to support movements that matter.”

The Harvard-bound star of Black-ish is focusing on “increasing voter turnout in the 2018 midterms [and] empowering young people to get involved in social causes focused on human well-being.”

Raisman and Shahidi are a perfect match for #AerieREAL — we couldn’t be more (body-)positive.
