Here’s what the adult Draco Malfoy looks like in “The Cursed Child”
Pottermore has been so good to us this week with cast photos from Harry Potter and the Cursed Child Parts One and Two. First, the site gifted us pics of Harry, Ginny, and their son, Albus; then we got to see the Granger-Weasley family. Now, in the final cast photos leading up to the the play’s London debut, we’re getting a grown-up Draco Malfoy (played by Alex Price) and his son, Scorpius (Anthony Boyle). false
As for J.K. Rowling, she loves the two together, saying that they “actually look related” — and we’d have to agree! She also joked that Anthony will “do nothing to turn girls off the Malfoy men.” Lawwwwlz. false
And, again, we’d have to agree. Look at those dashing robes! “He’s wearing the official Hogwarts uniform before you go and get sorted into your house,” Anthony told Pottermore. “He’s a Malfoy so his clothes should be really expensive but quite constraining to make him feel a bit awkward.” false
Meanwhile, Alex is thrilled about the production and says he got everything from the script, written by Jack Thorne. “And there’s obviously a massive history of books to draw on. You could tie yourself in knots worrying about it,” he said. “But our first job is to serve this play and J.K. Rowling’s characters as best we can.”
Ah, if only *every* actor and actress concentrated first and foremost on doing the book justice. Harry Potter never disappoints. We’ll just be over here squealing with excitement until July 30th, when the play hits the Palace Theater. Oh so magical.
