Adele told jokes onstage during a power outage at one of her shows, because of course she did
Leave it to Adele to make light of a (literally) dark situation. The powerhouse singer was in the middle of a concert at the Adelaide Oval, when there was a sudden power outage. But rather than stand awkwardly in silence while it got fixed, Adele decided to tell some jokes.
The singer dabbled in comedy, joking around with the crowd about the outage.
We can only imagine her jokes were a hit. After all, when 70,000 people show up to see you live, you’re probably going to get a warm reception no matter what you do.
And people seemed to get a kick out of her impromptu entertainment.

Apparently, the singer was standing on a rotating stage when somehow one of the main electrical plugs got pulled out of the socket while the stage was turning.

Instead of get angry or frustrated, Adele decided to go with the flow.
And that flow encouraged her to tell jokes. Despite the fact that most of her songs are family friendly, her jokes were apparently NSFW. According to news.com.au, the singer first surveyed the crowd before she said anything.
She said, "Shall I tell you my filthy joke despite all the children here?"
Of course the crowd was excited about it, but Adele needed more encouragement before continuing.
"I need more applause than that because I might offend someone," she added.
She even let one of her audience members tell a (much more appropriate) joke himself, according to The Sun. And she also had fun with a veil some fans made her to keep the mosquitos at bay.
She wore it onstage and cracked the entire audience up.
Adele later apologized for the power issue and thanked her fans for humoring her.
She said, "Thank you for your patience with my absolutely useless banter and thank you for putting up with some terrible jokes."
From the looks of her fan reactions to the rest of the show, they were plenty satisfied with the awesome experience.

And we have no doubt that hearing the multiple Grammy Award winner tell a few jokes was an added bonus to an already incredible concert experience. After all, her sense of humor is yet another thing that makes her so legendary.
