Adele just explained her priorities and they’re TOTALLY in the right order

A lot has happened to Adele since she first hit the world stage in 2008. In addition to double-digits worth of Grammys, an Oscar, and enormous critical acclaim, the 27 year-old singer also went through a difficult surgery and recovery and became a mother. It’s lovely to know that, with all that to juggle, she actually seems more clear about her priorities than ever. Also she looks ridiculously amazing on this couch.

Speaking to Vogue for their March cover story, Adele was open about how her life works. “”My main thing is Mum, then it’s me, then it’s work,” she explained, prioritizing her job as mother to 3 year-old Angelo. Even while planning her upcoming world tour, it’s always Angelo that comes first for her. According to Vogue, her recent European appearances haven’t kept her away from putting her son to bed on a daily basis, using daytime flights to get home in time. And yes, just in case you were wondering, she, like every other parent on the planet, really is the servant of Queen Elsa. The article reports that parental renditions of “Let it Go” are a favorite request for her son.

In terms of her second priority- herself- Adele seems pretty thrilled on that front, too. After the release of her 2011 album, 21, her star truly rose in the world, but she was forced to battle a difficult problem: vocal strain required her to undergo surgery on her vocal chords, resulting in a long rehab that included six weeks of total silence. The combination of her recover and motherhood kept her quite happily out of the spotlight for some time, but it also seems that she’s very happy to be back in the game. On a recent trip to Manhattan following the release of her newest album, she found herself mobbed by fans. “It looked like the Backstreet Boys. I was cracking up. I live a very different life when I haven’t got music out.”

And as for that third prio, work? Well, she does it when she feels like it, these days. ” I suppose there was lots riding on what to follow 21 up with. Once ‘Hello’ came out, I felt like I’d got nothing to prove. I’m just going to sing now because I want to, and I’ll make records when I want to and not because someone is forcing me to do it. Not that anyone ever has. I’d fire them if they tried!’
