An Adele and Lionel Richie collab might be happening, because that only makes sense
Undoubtedly, you’ve seen BlendTV’s awesome eleven second mash-up of Adele and Lionel Richie, playing on their two songs which share the same name, “Hello.” (If you haven’t, you are missing out my friend) Lionel Richie even got in on the joke, posting a photo to his Instagram with the two side on their respective phones. He uploaded with the caption, “HELLO @adele is it me you’re looking for…”
But the greatest part is yet to come, because this fantasy mash-up may become something very, very real. That’s right. Adele and Lionel Richie are reportedly working on a project together. It’s even been discussed by Richie himself. Richie recently spoke to E! News saying, “We are going to be doing something together — that’s already almost in the works.”
Apparently, many of Richie’s friends were nervous for the original “Hello” star and suggested he sue. But despite the immense success of Adele’s song of the same name, Richie was nothing but excited for the association.
“You have no idea how many people called me on the phone and said, ‘Are you going to let her get away with that? She stole ‘Hello!” Then I said I don’t own ‘Hello.’ I own the melody[…]If you say Adele and you say Lionel or Lionel and Adele…that’s the best pairing you could have!” We completely agree.
And Adele sounds just as excited as Richie at the idea of a collaboration. The star told The Telegraph,“We’ve definitely got to do something, me and Lionel.”
No word on whether it’ll be something funny (like Ellen’s hilarious parody) or heartbreakingly, amazingly musically beautiful, but when it comes to a pairing as cool as Adele and Lionel Richie, I’d take either!
