Add some extra cute to your holiday look with these DIY flower hair pins
As the song says, it’s the most wonderful time of the year. I love this season for its family get-togethers, sparkling decorations and yummy treats—and all of the parties! From office hangs to gift exchanges with friends, the holidays are filled with celebrations. They’re the perfect excuse to try some fun new looks!
This year, I’m accessorizing with some hand-crafted, floral hair pins. The blossoms add some fun dimension to a ponytail or curls, and the project only takes a few minutes of sewing. Now to get started on that list of presents…
Materials:
- Small fabric flowers (make sure they have flat backs)
- Thread in a corresponding color to the flowers
- Bobby pins
- Basic sewing needle
- Scissors
Craft away: Separate the flowers, and remove any stems or extra pieces from the backs.
Cut a couple of feet of thread and fold it in half, then thread the needle and tie a knot.
Sew two bobby pins to the back of each flower, arranging them in parallel lines. Use as many looping stitches as needed to securely connect the flat part of the pins to the fabric.
You’re all done! Slip your pretty new pins into your hair to put the finishing touch on your holiday ‘dos.
