Adam Rippon had the most polite clapback for internet trolls who hope he fails

Adam Rippon is a national treasure for many reasons. He’s the first openly gay U.S. winter Olympian, his musical selection for his figure skating performances are lit, and he and Reese Witherspoon are currently engaged in a Twitter bff-ship. However, his responses to the internet haters who tweet nasty things to him is not only inspiring, but fierce.

On February 13th, 2018, Rippon took to Twitter to address his Twitter trolls:

"To all those who tweet at me saying that they 'hope I fail', I have failed many times many times in my life. But more importantly, I’ve learned from every setback, proudly own up to my mistakes, grown from disappointments, and now I’m a glamazon bitch ready for the runway," wrote the men's figure skater.

And that is how you clap back.

Rippon’s tweet has already received praise from Chelsea Clinton, who replied, “You are spectacular Adam. Thank you for your grace & graciousness (& glamour!)” and RuPaul’s Drag Race, who sent him a simple:

"You betta werk!"

In case you aren’t up to date on men’s figure skating, Adam Rippon is a person worthy of your praise. We (again) point to his cute back-and-forth with Witherspoon, how he is a one-liner king (“Um, I want to go over to the judges and say, ‘Can I just have a Xanax? And a quick drink?”), and that he skates to Britney Spears mixes and cheekily calls his style “a little trashy.”

You can begin stanning now.
