Adam Levine shares sorrow and shock at the tragic death of “Voice” contestant Christina Grimmie
In a horribly tragedy that’s left so many people shocked and confused, The Voice alum Christina Grimmie was shot and killed after a concert last night in Orlando, Florida. As she was signing autographs and taking photos with fans in a post-show meet and greet, a man approached her and shot her at close range. Grimmie’s brother was close-by and managed to tackle the shooter, but the gunman shot and killed himself before he could be apprehended.
Grimmie was taken immediately to the hospital, but sadly, she passed away. The entire incident is just utterly heartbreaking.
Christina was a contestant on Season 6 of The Voice, where she was loved by her fellow contestants, fans and coaches. She was a member of Adam Levine’s team, and last night he expressed his shock and sorrow over her shooting with a bittersweet post on Instagram. The photo shows Levine and Grimmie goofing off and having fun together on the set of The Voice, and is captioned, “I’m sad, shocked and confused. We love you so much Grimmie. We are all praying hard that you can pull through this…this just isn’t fair.”
We agree, Adam. It’s not fair. Not fair at all.
But many of Grimmie’s fans are finding comfort in her own words. In a tweet from 2013, Grimmie said, “Sometimes God allows terrible things to happen in your life and you don’t know why. But that doesn’t mean you should stop trusting Him.” false
Grimmie’s tweet is being shared all over social media today, and we think it’s a lovely tribute to this special person whose loss is being felt worldwide.
Rest in peace, Christina.
