Adam Driver has teased what we can expect from Kylo Ren in “Star Wars: Episode VIII”
Our excitement levels for Star Wars: Episode VIII are pretty high, especially given that the film is being released this year. And now Adam Driver has been chatting about what we can expect from his character Kylo Ren in the upcoming Star Wars sequel.
We know for sure that Star Wars: Episode VIII has wrapped up filming as the cast celebrated completion of the film in spectacular fashion at London’s Natural History Museum, and it seems that we *may* have had a little taster of the first bit of dialogue from the movie, too.
Now Adam Driver has been teasing where things are heading for his character Kylo Ren, and we’re intrigued.
Chatting to Larry King, Driver opened up about one aspect of how his character might develop.
"I think, erm, maybe this is such a general answer but you know – humanity," he revealed. "Even though it’s very much a blockbuster movie, there was no taking that for granted."
Given that at the end of Star Wars Episode VII: The Force Awakens we saw Kylo Ren stab his father, Han Solo, with a lightsaber and apparently killing him, we’re kinda glad that we might get to see a more humane side to Driver’s character.
Driver also teased that there were plot points that the cast were aware of in the first movie that have been expanded on Episode VIII, explaining that things would begin to make more sense. What’s more, he also opened up about how the films also represent what’s going on socially in the world, too.
"They do kind of feel socially active to me, and George Lucas originally, a lot of Star Wars was in response to Vietnam," he said. "A lot of what I remember talking about with JJ [Abrams] and Rian [Johnson] was this idea of terrorism, and two sides being morally justified to behave however they wanted to to get whatever they thought was absolutely correct."
Ultimately, we’re going to have to wait until Star Wars: Episode VIII is released on December 15th of this year to find out exactly what Adam Driver is talking about, but we’re expecting that it’s going to have something to do with Rey and Supreme Leader Snoke.
Also, given that we saw Kylo Ren doubting his support of the The Dark Side of the Force, we’re sure that we’ll get to see more of the good in him.
