Abigail Breslin reveals that nailing THAT move in the “Dirty Dancing” remake was a ~lot~ of pressure

When Dirty Dancing makes its TV musical debut next month, it’s going to have ~lots~ to live up to. After all, the 1987 Patrick Swayze and Jennifer Grey flick is one of the ultimate classics. So when Abigail Breslin took on the role of Frances “Baby” Houseman, she knew she had some pretty big dancing shoes to fill. And of course, one of the most nerve-racking parts for the 20-year-old actress to prepare for was that epic lift scene!

“There was this weight of everyone loving it so much,” she told TV Insider of the gravity-defying dance stunt. “Just being graceful is a big enough feat for me, but being graceful while in the air? It was terrifying.”

“Yet we pulled it off — partially due to Colt [Prattes]’s talent, but also due to the fact that he knew I would murder him if he dropped me.”

While we’ve certainly all daydreamed about Patrick Swayze catching *us* in that ultra-romantic scene, set to the tune of “(I’ve Had) The Time of My Life,” the closest we’ve ever actually come to said move is, well, fantasizing about it. So props to Breslin for taking on the challenge and living out our dream — we know you nailed it, girl!

Breslin stars alongside Colt (who takes on the role of Johnny Castle) in the revived film, in addition to Hollywood heavyweights like Debra Messing, Sarah Hyland, Katey Sagal, and Nicole Scherzinger.

We’ll have to wait until May 24 to catch Abigail tackle the lift scene, when the Dirty Dancing musical airs on ABC. In the meantime, we’ll just be watching Ryan Gosling and Emma Stone’s take on the sultry dance move. Swoon.
