‘A Tale of Two Besties’ hits Austin, everything is amazing!
The first HelloGiggles novel, A Tale of Two Besties debuted on Tuesday and the first stop on our month-long tour was BookPeople in Austin, TX. . .and this #ATaleofTwoBesties event was amazing! BookPeople is the largest independent bookstore in Texas so the venue was brimming with eclectic books and cool, out-of-the box book paraphernalia. We loved it there! Attendees came in groups of two—mainly bestie-pairings, of course—which was adorable and made us so happy. The vibe was very informal and relaxed. Friends visited our homemade cookie table, provided by the awesome Sydalies cookies, grabbed a cookie (or two!) and then wandered to our Live Oak photo booth for a few fun pictures before setting down on a chair with a book. Guests floated around these two stations and chatted amongst themselves for the first half of the night. Our special HG guests included: HG contributor Teri Wilson—who drove in from San Antonio with her friends and was so thrilled to attend that she bought several copies of the book—and one of HG’s amazing illustrators, Ann Sullivan. Our special guest was actress Shannon Woodward! The talk between Shannon and Sophia was warm and casual and felt like we were all friends chatting with each other (which we are, aren’t we Gigglers?). Once that concluded, everyone shuffled up to the front to have Sophia sign their A Tale of Two Besties book along with our limited-edition Besties poster and collected their HG swag gift pouch filled with fun surprises!
