A new “Rogue One” trailer is coming and we couldn’t be more excited for more sci-fi girl power!

As if a car full of swimmers lip syncing Miley Cyrus wasn’t enough to get us into the Rio Olympics, a new trailer for Rogue One: A Star Wars Story will premiere on Thursday during the games on NBC.

After a Twitter user Tweeted about the spot, Lucasfilm confirmed that the trailer will air this week with the following message (the film itself comes out on December 16th):

The new movie stars the super talented Felicity Jones as Jyn Erso, a character who is recruited by Rebel Forces to, “steal the plans for the Death Star that would later be used in the original Star Wars trilogy to take it down.”

This is all pretty freaking awesome, since science fiction has historically represented the narratives of straight, cisgendered white men, even though women have often been integral to the development of the genre (Mary Shelly, anyone)?

Basically, we couldn’t be more excited to see more onscreen representation of underrepresented groups in the Star Wars universe, as well as in the genre at large. And it makes us even happier that this isn’t the first time we’ve seen it recently, what with Star Wars: The Force Awakens and an all-ladies Ghostbusters reboot.

What’s that we’re hearing? Ah yes, the sound of PROGRESS! And it sounds pretty freaking good.
