A Big Mac ATM is coming to McDonald’s, and this is obviously the best idea ever

Imagine sidling up to an ATM, pressing a button and having a juicy hamburger slide out into your palm. Sounds too good to be true, but if you live in or around Boston, this could be you in the very near future. As Eater reports, a Big Mac ATM that’s being installed in a Boston McDonald’s will dispense the fast food chain’s classic burger on January 31st.

The one-day-only event is to promote McDonald’s two new Big Macs, so the vending machine burgers will be free. Mickey D’s just gave away 10,000 bottles of Big Mac Sauce, and now they’re doling out these Big Macs like nobody’s business, and we absolutely love them for it.

ICYDK, sharing is caring, y’all.

Speaking of sharing, that’s the precise currency McDonald’s prefers to use in order to get the word out about its two new burgers. The customers who use the Big Mac ATM have to provide their Twitter handles, which then allows the machine to tweet a promotional message from their accounts.

As for their innovative (albeit temporary) method of food serving, the Big Mac ATM hasn’t quite attained the ability to flip and cook patties on its own. The machine will only dispense burgers that have already been prepared.

As local McDonald’s owner-operator Vincent Spadea explained:

"The burgers are cooked on-site at [a nearby] McDonald’s and then immediately loaded into the heated machine, which is refilled on an ongoing basis to ensure fresh quality."

Yes, McDonald’s. You guys are the bomb dot com. Seriously, this is the way you kick off a new year. Other fast food joints, take note because McDonald’s clearly has the sauce (literally and figuratively) and we can’t wait to see what they surprise us with next.
