This 99-year-old skier hit the slopes again in Utah, and we want to be like him

Check out this video of a dude skiing. And it’s not just any dude: That dude is 99 1/2 years old. George Jedenoff of Utah has been skiing for 57 consecutive years. Yeah, we’re impressed as hell too.
Jedenoff started skiing Alta and Snowbird resorts in 1960, at age 43, and never stopped. If there’s powder, he’s riding it. He hits Alta and Snowbird resorts year after year, and has become a bit of a celebrity on the slopes.
Over the past two years, Ski Utah has produced mini-documentaries about Jedenoff for his 95th, 96th, 97th, and 98th birthdays. Each seemed remarkable, until the next came. Here’s to hoping for many more powder-filled years.
“Powder makes you happy. You don’t always have it, but when you have it, you’ve got to really go for it,” Jedenoff says.

"A guy asked me one time, what do you think is my best trait and I said, 'that I never give up.' He says, 'What do you think is your worst trait?' 'I never give up.'"
Not only is George Jedenoff, at 99 1/2 years old, stronger and more determined than most people half his age, but he’s chock full of sage wisdom.
“Be grateful for everything you’ve got,” he says. “Don’t lament about the things that you don’t have, be grateful for the things that you do have.”
It can take a lifetime to fully embody such an outlook, but you can’t learn about this man without feeling inspired.
“Don’t let the negative things get ahead of you,” he says, as he glides down a snowy mountain. “Stay positive and you’ll be a lot happier.”
