The Tumblr we’ve been waiting for since the ’90s
If you grew up in the ’90s, you probably remember Lisa Frank. And if you’re like us, you probably worshipped her and had her artwork all over your notebooks, pencils, and folders. I mean, rainbow unicorns and puppies? Can it possibly get any better? She’s one of our fondest ’90s memories, TBH. Confession: Lisa Frank is still a part of my daily life. You can buy her stuff on Amazon and it’s just as great as it was when you were in third grade.
But if you need even MORE Lisa Frank in your life, some brilliant soul has taken her trippy, super-cute artwork and given it a fab feminist twist. “Feminist Lisa Frank” is a Tumblr that is “dismantling the patriarchy one rainbow kitten at a time,” according to the page’s own tagline. We obviously love that.
In other words, it takes the Lisa Frank art we all know and love and adds quotes by amazing, powerful women, like Gloria Steinem, Shonda Rhimes, Audre Lorde, Amy Poehler, and Frida Kahlo, to name just a few. So pretty much, it’s better than anything on the Internet, ever.
As if we needed another reason to totally love people on Tumblr (you brilliant people, you) now we have this. Check out some of our fave gems from this fabulously female-powered ’90s-spirited Tumblr:
