This 90-year-old did something on his birthday that we are definitely not strong enough to do

Either your self-esteem levels will take an immediate nosedive, or you’ll be majorly motivated to get your life in order after watching this 90-year-old do 24 birthday pull-ups like a total pro. We’re talking straight-up will power and upper body strength combined with nearly a century’s worth of badassery in the making.

As Mashable reports, the man responsible for one of the most impressive birthday workouts we’ve ever laid eyes upon is a spunky nonagenarian from Florida named Vern. According to the video Vern’s son filmed and shared on YouTube, he and his dad routinely go to the gym together, and clearly the commitment to fitness has paid off.

"This is my Dad. It's his birthday today and he's 90," the video caption reads. "We go to the gym regularly and he loves to do pullups! I think he does pretty good considering he broke both elbows as a kid."

Pretty good?! Either our standards are too low or that’s the understatement of the year. Look at Vern casually killing it on the bars in a T-shirt, cargo pants and sandals (and socks LOL):

Um, so we’ve imagined our plans for the future, but they definitely did NOT involve doing a few sets of pull-ups to celebrate still being alive and thriving for nine decades strong. But now that we think about it, that’s not a bad idea. We should probably get to work on revamping — OK fine, creating — our entire list of retirement goals that don’t involve lazing around all day and losing as much muscle mass as we possibly can.
